Philip Dye is a module lead and academic at the Professional Golfers’ Association, where he has been part of the education team since 2017. His teaching spans golf equipment technology, custom fitting, and performance measurement, with a focus on helping future PGA professionals apply technical knowledge in real-world contexts.
Before entering higher education, Philip worked internationally as a performance coach and golf equipment specialist in the Netherlands, supporting players with data-informed fitting strategies and advanced coaching interventions. Prior to this, he served in the British Army as a relay operator in the Royal Signals, a role that instilled both discipline and adaptability, qualities that later informed his brief professional playing career and ultimately his transition into education.
Philip's diverse experience across coaching, equipment technology, military service, and academic teaching has shaped a unique perspective on performance, learning, and professional development. His approach is grounded in the belief that authentic, contextualised learning experiences, particularly in vocational settings, offer the most meaningful path to long-term skill development.
